Owner
Jim Vowles B.A., CFP, CLU, Ch.F.C., President. Jim co-founded Kingston Financial Centre in 1988 with his late partner and friend David Porco. Prior to starting Kingston Financial Centre, Jim spent 16 years in the life insurance industry. Jim has completed many professional development courses in life insurance, estate and retirement planning, investment planning and portfolio theory. Jim is a graduate of Queen's University with a B.A. in Economics. He is a past president of the Kingston Life Underwriters Association and also of the Kingston and District CLU Chapter.
Jim is also a founding shareholder and Director at FundEX Investments Inc. Since its inception, FundEX Investments' unique concept and platform has flourished. As a result, FundEX Investments has grown into one of the leading independent financial services companies in Canada.
Currently, FundEX supports over 420 Planning Professionals and administers close to $4 Billion in assets with offices in every province across Canada.

Tom Dorrance, C.A. joined Kingston Financial Centre in September 2000. Before coming to KFC, he was a partner in a local chartered accounting firm that helped businesses grow and prosper. Tom's specialties include financial planning, retirement and estate concerns and personal tax issues. Rick Maraczi joined Kingston Financial Centre in January 1997 after spending six years with a major Canadian Bank. Rick completed the Institute of Canadian Bankers Investment Funds of Canada course as well as the Institute's Introduction to Business course at Queen's University. Jason (Jake) Hare joined Kingston Financial Centre in September 2004 from a national life insurance company. With four years experience in the financial planning sector, Jake specializes in personal estate management and business planning. With a degree in optometry, Jake uses his personal business experience in helping small business owners and entrepreneurs simplify and identify the financial requirements of their businesses. Gordon Marshall, CFP joined Kingston Financial Centre in November 2004, and obtained his Certified Financial Planner's designation shortly after. Gord has been in the financial services industry since 1997. Before coming to Kingston Financial Centre, he was a financial planner/director with a national life insurance company. Gord specializes in financial, retirement, and estate planning through the use of mutual funds, segregated funds and life insurance products. Sharon Fellows joined Kingston Financial Centre in 1999. Her career in the investment and life insurance industry spans a twenty-five year period. Sharon has successfully completed the Investment Funds Institute of Canada Investment Funds course. Sharon works closely with her clients in supporting and managing their financial relationships with KFC. Mary Thompson CFP EPC RN joined the Kingston Financial Centre in May 2006. After 15 years as a registered nurse, Mary began her financial services career in February 1996. During those 10 years she has developed her skills as a compassionate advisor. She holds her Certified Financial Planner and Elder Planning Counselor designations.
Mary’s main focus is seniors and estate planning. She has a great deal of experience with insurance products and group insurance plans. She has developed a simple process that allows clients to organize and understand their current situation and develop solutions.
Mary has always lived and worked in the Kingston area. Mary and Mark were married in 1981 and have 2 grown sons. She acts as a senior’s advocate and loves time spent at her cottage and with her family. mthompson@kingstonfinancial.com
Kathryn Wright BA, CFP joined Kingston Financial Centre in October 2005. She is a financial services professional holding the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and has over twenty-five years extensive and varied experience in bank, brokerage and mutual fund company environments.
Kathryn has worked in senior and responsible positions in the financial industry in Toronto and New York. She has returned to Kingston where she was raised and educated.

Administration
Virginia Bridge, Administrative Officer, joined Kingston Financial Centre in 1991, with twenty years of financial services experience in credit and investment administration. She has successfully completed the Investment Funds Institute of Canada Investment Funds Course. Ginny is responsible for the management of our GIC portfolio and providing computer and technical support to our financial planners. Diane Dueck joined Kingston Financial Centre in September 2004. Diane has over twenty years experience in the financial services industry, both in investments and insurance.
